Our Leadership
Kevin Schneider
Senior Pastor
Kevin, his wife Jeanne, and their five children (Olivia, Zach, Maddy, Carter and Cayden) love just about anything related to sports, nights by the fire pit, and just hanging at home. Jeanne oversees the education of middle and high school deaf students who are mainstreamed into the Sioux Falls public schools. They also have two cats, a dog, and a couple of fish!
Kevin has been involved with Good News since 1991. In 1996, he began serving on the church staff as the youth director. In 2000, he transitioned to providing congregational care along with doing some preaching. When he completed his Master of Divinity degree from Sioux Falls Seminary in 2002, he received a call from Good News to serve as Senior Pastor.
As Senior Pastor, Kevin’s main role is to provide leadership and vision. He does this through weekly preaching, calling and visiting, and generally walking through life together with the people of Good News.
When asked what the vision is that God has given him for his ministry, Kevin replied, “When I was interviewed for the Pastor position here at Good News, I remember sharing that I believed that God wanted my ministry to be a ministry of healing. Is does not matter whether that healing is physical, emotional, or spiritual. I desire to see people become all that God wants them to be so that together we may enlarge the kingdom of God here on earth. I am thoroughly convinced that our mission ‘of being a place where people encounter the living God in ways they cannot help but share,’ is right on track. We must continue to move toward this because people need Jesus.”

Mary Morgan
Church Admin/Education Lead
Mary and her husband, Bill, have two adult children, Jessica and Derek, who also live in Sioux Falls. Mary has been attending Good News Church since 1988 and joined the staff as Church Administrator in 2006. As Church Administrator Mary is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Good News Church. This includes oversight of the church staff, the church property, office procedures, financial records, policies, and programs which are in keeping with the church's overall vision. She also works with the volunteers on the Education and Safety Ministry Teams.
When asked what her favorite part of her role is here at Good News, Mary said, “I love ideas and I love helping people get things started. I am having a really great day when I am able to be a part of helping someone else’s God-given dream become reality. Sometimes they may be too scared or they don’t think they’re able. Sometimes they may not have had the time to do it all themselves or they just need someone to help them take that first step. I enjoy being someone’s enabler—the healthy kind!”

Peter Jenkins
Youth Director
Peter and his wife, Sandy, have been married since 2004 and have one daughter, Brielle.
Peter began attending Good News in late spring of 2004 and took the Youth Director position in the late summer of 2005. As Youth Director, Peter oversees middle school and high school age students. He also works with many volunteers who are crucial in developing students to know and follow Christ with all their hearts.
Peter’s vision for the youth ministry here at Good News revolves around the adults of the church. He believes the best way to learn is from the example of others. When people are willing to share their lives and history with the younger generation and do ministry with students because of what they have learned, kids grow tremendously.
When asked about his favorite part of his role here, Peter said, “The best part of my job is the opportunity to get to know so many people and learn about their faith journeys. Adults move from nervous volunteers to life changing mentors. Students are sponges that want the best but soak up whatever is around them. When we get life change mentors surrounding the sponges the harvest is tremendous, because they are surrounded by other sponges and have a great opportunity and the passion to share God’s love uncontrollably.”
In Peter’s spare time he loves to play games, whether board games, card games, made up games or sports. He loves to compete (and to win)!

Brad is married to Bev. Their son, Chris and his wife Brianna, also attend Good News. They also have a daughter and son-in-law—Jenn and Ben Powers.
Koopmans have been a part of Good News since 1996. Brad says of his spiritual walk, "My walk has been one of highs and lows over the years but one that has continued to gradually rise as I try to seek more and more God's guidance and purpose for my life. Even though I have not liked the low points in my spiritual walk I have emerged on the other side with greater understanding and a greater desire to know the Lord more. I have found that when I am not disciplined in the quiet time that I spend with Him my life becomes more chaotic and subject to outside influences that tempt and pull me away from His will. I am so thankful that I worship that God of the second chance and that through His continual love, grace, and mercy I am able to continue to move forward in my pursuit of becoming more like Him and directing His love toward others."
During his years at Good News, Brad has served on Praise Team, as a Youth group parent volunteer, as elder, and as men's Bible study facilitator.
Brad works as a Regional Sales Manager for Rural Community Insurance Services.

Deacon - Assist. Treas.
Care Group: (A-C)
Larry and his wife, Kendra have a daughter, Haley. Larry began attending Good News in 1999, became a Good News member in 2000, and he and Kendra were married at Good News in October 2000.
Larry says of his spiritual walk, "As I strive to surround myself with positive spiritual influences, I hope to become a positive spiritual influence myself, that can help surround others in need. I believe we are on a life-long journey of following the Word and power of God, but that we never actually “get there” while on earth. Rather, it is a lifestyle of constant change and improvement to become the best we can be. I have many faults and weaknesses, but I am grounded by a strong family background, an enriching family life on a daily basis, and a church that brings me closer to the principles that I strive for every day. While I may not be skilled at quoting Bible verses, I believe that the decisions one makes, when nobody is looking or listening, are what defines us in the eyes of God."
During his years at Good News Church Larry has served as a crew leader at Vacation Bible School, been in several small groups, participated in Saturday morning men’s group, helped with Children In Worship, and served as a greeter. Schnabels currently host Sunday morning youth group at their house.
Larry works at LodgeNet Interactive as a Senior Engineering Project Manager.

Jason and his wife Lisa have two daughters, Allison & Jamie, and one son, Daniel. They have been attending Good News since 1997.
Jason says of his spiritual walk, "My dad was killed when I was five, and we really did not go to church after that. When I was stationed at Ellis Air Force Base, my roommate asked me if I wanted to start going to church on Wednesday nights, I guess Mark Slaughter from the band went to church there and I thought it might cool. When I moved back to Sioux Falls, something was missing. I met Lisa and we started to talk about life and God.We looked around for a church. Her Dad was a member of Good News, and we started to attend. I thought Pastor Glen was talking to me every Sunday. I remember wondering how he knew so much of what was going on in my life? I eventually was baptized and married at Good News."
While at Good News Jason has been involved in working with the high school youth. He also serves on the Building Committee.
Jason works at the South Dakota Air National Guard as the NCOIC of the Analysis office. He has been serving our country for the past 24 years.
