Children’s Center Cook

Possibility of Summer off

 Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in ordering food and needed supplies for the planned menus

  • Prepare and serve nutritious snacks and meals for 50-90 children

  • Be or become familiar with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Health and Safety Regulations (training provided)

  • Routine cleaning of the food service area

  • Interact with children of various ages through snack and meal times

  • Welcome and interact with children as they arrive in the morning

  • Transport (as needed) elementary children to school using a 15 passenger van (preferred)

  • Yearly complete 15 hours of in-service, including CPR, First Aide, Fire Safety, Child and Adult Care Food Program training


  • Cooking experience

  • Desire to serve as a proper Christ-like role model for children, families, and co-workers

  • 21 years or older

  • The cook must be able to lift 40 pounds, bend, stoop, stretch and stand for long periods of time in order to fulfill the essential job functions

  • Child Abuse/Neglect Screening and Criminal Background Check

  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Starting wage is $11-$12 per hour

  • 2 weeks paid vacation (after 6 months)
