MISSION:

Commissioned by God to GO make disciples of Jesus Christ.

VISION:

Through Jesus, we are called to love and serve.

We are dedicated to living out our values of being:

BIBLICALLY ROOTED (What Scripture tells us to do):
We cherish God’s word as our guiding light, illuminating our path, inspiring our beliefs, and shaping the decision and actions of Good News Church.

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. – Psalm 119:105

IN CONTINUAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH (Steps of discipleship):
We believe that spiritual growth is a lifelong journey, adapting to unique needs at each stage, and we embrace continuous growth in the Spirit and aspire to build disciples who will in turn disciple others.

Not that I have already obtained all of this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. – Philippians 3:12

Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. – Deuteronomy 6:7-9

OPEN HANDED (Welcoming and able to give and receive):
We welcome people the way that God welcomes us – with open hands and with service.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. - Philippians 2:5-7

DEVOTED TO SERVICE (Community Outreach):
Believing that each individual is uniquely gifted by God to serve in His kingdom, we are committed to helping you discover and develop these gifts, empowering you to actively participate in service and make a meaningful impact.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. - 1 Peter 4:10

RELATIONAL (Internal Connection):
With Jesus we are fully known and fully loved and are dedicated to creating spaces where people can be authentic, honest, and feel deeply loved, guided back to Jesus in every season of life.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. – 1 John 4:11-12

COMMITTED (Time, Talent, and Treasure):
We embrace wholehearted commitment beyond Sunday mornings and invite everyone to be fully engaged members of our church family, using their gifts, talents, and resources to carry our vision into their daily lives.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Luke 12:34

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Corinthians 9:7

Our Logo Explained

THE COMPASS

The church is not a building—it is the people. We gather in a building not so people come to us, but so we are equipped and sent out to fulfill the Great Commission. The diamond shape with arrows pointing in the four cardinal directions represents the outward focus of the church. As members of Good News, we gather so that when we are sent into the mission field, we are increasingly prepared for the discipleship we are called to live out.

THE CROSS

The cross is intentionally integrated into the negative space of the logo. It forms the foundation of our mission and enables us to live out the “GO” aspect of discipleship. As the center point, it shapes the six surrounding forms that represent our core values. This design reflects what the cross means to us as a church and as disciples of Christ.

THE FORWARD FACE:

Our call to “GO” is the most visible element of our mission and vision. Like the “reverse flag” on military uniforms—where the flag appears to be moving forward—the Good News logo leans forward to represent movement into the mission field. The right-pointing arrow symbolizes leaving our comfort zone and stepping into our calling.

Secondarily, the cross itself leans forward. This reinforces forward movement and recalls Jesus carrying His cross toward Golgotha. Our call into the mission field involves sacrifice, while reminding us of the ultimate sacrifice made by our Savior.
